MsAntiSocialite suggests that "Not everything online is a blog, one word - PORN." However, we'd like to argue that point. See, porn is a vlog, it also has the capability to be a blog. In condensed bulletin form, here's why...
1- The definition of a blog is " blog is a website in which items of self expression are posted on a regular basis and displayed in reverse chronological order " and a video blog is simply the video form of posting or a blog with video in it. So all those porn videos on YouTube are simply someone's amateur form of self expression because apparently to some people self-expression = naked.
2- Even when the porn is produced by professionals it is still a vlog... why you ask? because there's a director who's taking two naked people and fulfilling his adult-industry dreams... and probably someone else's. That's self expression, right? and then it's posted online, right? and then it's usually in reverse chronological order when he comes out with "Barely Legal Girls 27" and volume 26 gets pushed lower on the list.
3- Porn can be a blog (as in the text kind) when it's in the form of a graphic story/article/thingy. Sure they resemble short stories that happen to have lots of boobs in them, but be perfectly honest with yourself... if you copy and paste it from your "Short Stories" folder in My Documents into your blog space on MySpace then it's instant blog, right? It's your form of self-expression, through words, and posted online. One relatively legit (okay not really, it's just some really wildly strange internet site) source for blog-like porn stories is The Temple of the Screaming Electron or totse.com
3- YouTube is a sight for vloggers to log on and load up on amateur or professional videos... and (you ready for this?) PornTube is a sight for vloggers to log on and load up on you guessed it, amateur and professional videos of the naked sort. PornTube is even legit enough to have been a full 3-4 page article in Playboy's September Issue.
I would love to expand on this idea further, so please feel free to contribute and discuss the issue... that would make the four of us very happy.
Speaking of such, our next entry will be introducing you to the four of the members of the New Media Technologies group... we're really really interesting people... you should stay tuned :)
